How do I access the building?

On your first day you have received a blue badge from HR which you can use to gain access to the office in Veghel, Amsterdam, and Antwerp. Always check in and out using this badge upon entry and exit by holding it close to the terminal placed at the door. This will ensure a quick overview of everyone in a building in case of a calamity. If your badge is not working or you have other questions about the batch please contact HR. They are happy to help you!  

How do I get from one building to the other?

As you have probably seen in the video about the Amsterdam office, it’s really easy to find your way, as there is only one stairs up to fourth floor. However, the Veghel office can feel a bit like a maze in the first days. This office consists of 3 buildings:·        

- Zuidkade 6: this is where you find the main entrancewith reception, and the best coffee machine! Most of the lawyers andsecretaries have their offices here.·        

- Zuidkade 5: this is the older building in between,here you can find the library and theatre. Most of the lawyers and secretarieshave their offices here.·        

- Zuidkade 4: in this building you can find the departments Bierens Collections, HR, Finance, Marketing & Sales, and the Project team. You can also find the diner, gameroom and gym here!
To go from Zuidkade 5 and 6 to Zuidkade 4, you will have to walk through the old Bierens office and the Batcave!

I’ve got technical issues, what should I do?

If you have urgent technical issues or questions, please call the IT Servicedesk (phonenumber). If you have technical issues or questions that are less urgent, please report them via TopDesk. You can find TopDesk via My Apps (microsoft.com).

How can I make use of the lunch facilities at the office?

At the Amsterdam office there are no lunch facilities in the office, but there are plenty of supermarkets, bakery’s, and other spots to get your lunch. Of course, it is also possible to bring your own lunch, and keep it in the refrigerator. In the Veghel office it is possible to make us of the lunch facilities at the office. Here you can enjoy different types of bread, types of meat and cheese, sweet toppings, toasties and a salad bar from Monday till Wednesday. There is also milk, coffee, thee, cup-a-soup and fruit!  If you are eating in the diner 4 or 5 days a week, then you can get a lunch subscription for a fixed amount of € 41,20 (5 days) or €32,96 (4 days). This will be deducted from your salary. If you are interested in this, please contact HR. It is also possible to make us of this every now and then for an amount of €3.25 per day. There is a list with names in the kitchen, so each time you put a “I” behind your name.  

How do I stay informed about what is going on in the organization?

We are using the message board on Synergy to post information about upcoming events, new initiatives, birthdays, and new colleagues. So make sure you check is every now and then!

Where do I go to with my great ideas?

We are always open to new and creative ideas! For example, when it comes to your job area, but also when it comes to social initiatives or contributions to the offices. For this we have the Robin Basket, a basket in which you can throw a piece of paper with your idea. The basket is location in Zuidkade 6 on the first floor!  If you are working at the Amsterdam office, we are sure that one of your colleagues wants to throw your contribution in the Bierens basket in Veghel 😉 it is also possible to send an e-mail to robin@bierensgroup.com.  

How do I make a good start at Bierens?

How to deal with smoking breaks?

We would like to stimulate a healthy workplace for all our colleagues. If you do smoke, you are allowed to take a smoking break once every daypart. Please make sure you compensate the time of these breaks before 08:30am of 17:30pm.

What if I don’t have an outfit for carnival?

Don’t worry, you can always borrow something from one of your colleagues. Alaaf!
